Gabrielli Medal
2024 – Aldo Frediani
During the 34th edition of the International Congress of Aeronautical Science (ICAS), the first edition of the Gabrielli medal was awarded to Prof. Ing. Aldo Frediani, former full professor of Aeroelasticity at Università di Pisa for his outstanding contributions and innovations in the aeronautical field which enlarged the knowledge of the aeronautical science by leveraging on national and international collaborations and put his figure in the forefront of the aeronautical sector.
2025 – Luís Carlos Affonso
During the 28th AIDAA International Congress and the 10th CEAS Aerospace Europe Conference (CEAS-AIDAA 2025), the second edition of the Gabrielli medal was awarded to Ing. Luís Carlos Affonso, Senior Vice President of Engineering & Technology Development of EMBRAER, for exceptional strategic and technical contributions to Embraer, significantly strengthening the company’s position within the global aerospace industry, through innovative vision and inspiring leadership, and making a decisive contribution to the technological, industrial, and commercial development of the organization.


Broglio Medal
2024 – Ernesto Vallerani
During the 75th edition of the International Astronautical Congress (I.A.C.), the first edition of the Broglio Medal was awarded to Prof. Ing. Ernesto Vallerani, past president of Alenia Spazio and AIDAA for his outstanding contribution as a pioneer in human space flight. His exceptional dedication has allowed him to reach significant achievements that brought Italy to the forefront of space exploration, guaranteeing Thales-Alenia-Space a world-leading position.
2025 – Vanniaperumal Narayanan
During the 28th AIDAA International Congress and the 10th CEAS Aerospace Europe Conference (CEAS-AIDAA 2025), the second edition of the Broglio medal was awarded to Dr. Ing. Vanniaperumal Narayanan, President of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), For pioneering leadership in cryogenic propulsion and launch vehicle systems, enabling India’s historic lunar missions, and for advancing international space exploration with outstanding engineering achievements that have significantly expanded the frontiers of aerospace technology.
