My personal experience in writing a proposal for a MSCA Individual Fellowship

Riccardo Augello, Postdoctoral Fellow under the Marie Sktodowska-Curie Actions

Riccardo Augello is a Postdoctoral Fellow under the Marie Sktodowska-Curie Actions, which is a researcher mobility programme funded by the European Commission.

Augello received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in February, 2021.  His research project focused on the development of advanced mathematical theories based on nonlocal mechanics for the geometrical nonlinear analysis of composite structures.  The research activities were carried out jointly with the City University of Hong Kong, where he spent a six-month research period. In July 2022, he was appointed Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Torino.

Augello joined Caltech in March 2023 as a part of his European research project “NOnlinear analysis for VIrTual design of composite deployAble Space booms and membranes” (NOVITAS).  The project aims to generate novel advances in the mathematical modelling of ultra-thin deployable and foldable composite structures.

 

Telespazio – T-Tech

Marco Brancati, Telespazio Group – Chief Technology & Innovation Officer

Marco Brancati holds a degree in Electronic Engineering with a focus on Telecommunications and Radars from the University of Naples Federico II. He began his career at Selenia Industrie, where he dealt with System Analysis activities for the Electronic Defence Division prior to moving to the Telespazio Group in 1990.

His past experience includes: subsystem project manager for the Italsat F1 and SAX satellite missions, Program Manager for the Operations Engineering and O&M activities relevant to Iridium and Astrolink programs, Key Account Manager for European Commission and Eumetsat, and Head of Telespazio Studies Unit, within the Studies and Innovative Projects Business Unit. He was also responsible for Telespazio Institutional Programs (Sicral 1B and Athena-FIDUS among the others), and he served as the Head of Marketing & Commercial Planning.

In September 2008 Marco was appointed Vice President of Telespazio Network & Connectivity Business Line, responsible for the development of all TLC and TV programs and products in the company. In February 2011 he was appointed Senior Vice President of Network & Connectivity Business Unit at the Group level. In the same year he completed his Executive Leadership Program at London Imperial College.

On October 2016 Marco was appointed Chief Technology & Innovation Officer for Telespazio Group, in charge of Innovation and Technology Governance. In June 2021, such role was enriched with the responsibility for Information Technology and Sustainability. In addition to what above, from June 2023 he is also in charge of Research Funding and Digital Engineering for the whole Telespazio Group, as SVP of Research, Digital and Innovation Unit.

From 2022 he is Vice President of Space Exploration Commission within “Ordine degli Ingegneri” organization in Roma.

 

ERC Starting Grant & MSCA-Postdoctordal Fellowships opportunities

Angelo D’Agostino, Agenzia per la Promozione della Ricerca Europea – Head of Research career and NCPs coordination Unit

After a degree in Political Science, specialising in International Politics, Angelo D’Agostino worked for two years in Africa, in Chad, in an international cooperation project as coordinator of the microfinance sector. Back in Italy, he obtained a Master’s degree in International Project Management organized by Sole24Ore, Sapienza University of Rome and the Institute of Foreign Trade. Over the years he has been appointed as the National Contact Point for PEOPLE and Science in Society in the 7th Framework Programme (FP7); Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions (MSCA), Science with and for Society ed ERC in Horizon 2020 ed MSCA, ERC, WIDERA e Legal & Financial in Horizon Europe. His expertise is complemented by his experience in international project management and numerous lectures on FP7, Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. In APRE he is Head of the Researchers’ Career and NCP Coordination Unit.
